It is anticipated that a bursary may cover the following: 1. The cost of return travel from Britain to Bec Abbey, 2. Accommodation at the Abbey for a period of up to four weeks and preferably not less than two weeks. 3. A modest contribution towards other expenses It is expected that the recipients of a bursary will have a specific project of study planned for their time at the John Bishop library. We ask recipients to arrange their own transport and request for accommodation at Bec Abbey. After the period of study the trustees would be grateful to receive a short report of the work fulfilled. Applications may be considered from those who wish to organise a reading week for a group of students. The trustees will consider applications for a bursary and for joining a Reading Week at their twice-yearly meetings, which are usually held in the autumn and spring. It is therefore advisable to make an application at least six months before a proposed visit to Bec Abbey.
Please make your application upon the form provided, printing it out and using it as a hard copy. Once completed please send it to the Clerk to the Trustees (address listed here). You are very welcome to contact the Clerk to the Trustees (email address on the Who's Who page) if you have any inquiries concerning the bursaries, the library or Bec Abbey. |
